PSN Data Top Guns! (06/2/2011)
We are pleased to report that both the Growth Program and the ILCG achieved Informais Investment Solutions PSN database Top Gun rankings for the period ending March 31, 2011. Although their precise ranking criteria varies by star category, in this case it means that the product composite gross performances were among the Top Ten performers within one or more peer groups reporting to PSN.
According to PSN, their database is "the longest-running investment manager database in North America." We voluntarily submit data to PSN and other professional investment manager databases. Further, "Utilizing a proprietary blend of our clients' top priority performance screens, PSN Top Guns ranks products in six proprietary star categories in over 50 universes. This is a highly anticipated quarterly ranking and is widely used by institutional asset managers and investors."
The Growth Program was listed in their one star category (the criteria is strictly latest quarter gross returns) in the Large Cap and Large Cap Growth universe. The ILCG was listed in the one star and two star categories (the two star category criteria is strictly latest twelve-months gross returns) in the large cap universe.
Note that we regard both products as large cap growth-style and are suprised they did not see fit to include the ILCG in their large cap growth universe ranking, especially since it outperformed our Growth Program. Hopefully as the ILCG composite grows to cover more periods whatever correlation studies they likely use to classify products will reach our same conclusion.
Past performance is no guarantee of future success.
