He was born August 15, 1959, is married and has one child. Mr. Lahti is a fourth-degree Black Belt (a "Sensei") in Isshinryu Karate, having trained in the art for over 25 years.
Occupation
Mr. Lahti is a portfolio manager, having joined New Century at the end of September, 2000. He is a member of the firm's Investment Committee.
Prior Employment
Mr. Lahti was previously employed as Director of Business Development for the Internet company, NetJumper.com. Prior to that position, Mr. Lahti was a practicing attorney in the State of Michigan for fifteen years. He argued cases in all levels of State Court, including the Michigan Supreme Court, as well as Federal District Court. He advised numerous individuals, partnerships and corporations on a wide variety of matters.
Education
Mr. Lahti holds a Juris Doctor Cum Laude from the Wayne State University Law School, Detroit, Michigan (1984), where he received the Bronze Key Award, American Jurisprudence Award for Evidence and the Renfrew Legal History Scholarship. While in law school he was a member of both the Wayne Law Review and Moot Court. He has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Michigan Honors College of Literature, Science and the Arts, Ann Arbor, Michigan (1981), where he was a Regents-Alumni Scholar. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Detroit Country Day School High School, Birmingham, Michigan (1977).
NASD Series Examinations
Mr. Lahti passed Exam Series 65, the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination conducted by the North American Securities Administrators Association (2000, and again in 2010).
