Karen Raitt Modell was born April 22, 1965, is married and has two children.

Occupation

Ms. Modell is Managing Director and Corporate Secretary of New Century Investment Management, Incorporated. She was appointed Corporate Secretary in April, 1994 and Managing Director during March, 1996.  Her responsibilities are administrative and operational.

Prior Employment

Ms. Modell is an Attorney-at-Law admitted to the Michigan Bar in 1990. She was associated with the Detroit law firm Dickinson, Wright, Moon, Van Dusen & Freeman as an attorney from 1990 until her employment as Managing Director with New Century.  Her Bloomfield Hills office practice focused on complex real estate and other commercial transactions, including sale and leaseback transactions, development and leasing for the firm's largest corporate client.

Education

Ms. Modell holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School, Ann Arbor, Michigan (1990).  She has a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from the University of Michigan School of Literature, Science and the Arts, Ann Arbor, Michigan (1987), with a Major in Economics.  She held academic honors in 1984 and 1986, and was a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, an economic honors fraternity, and the Golden Key National Honors Society. She graduated from Kingswood School Cranbrook High School, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (1983).
